The School of Banking and Finance is a major school within the Australian School of Business at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). It has distinguished Honors, Masters, and PhD programs in finance, Australia's highest ranking MBA program, and attracts some of the best students in Australia and abroad. It is highly ranked in both research and teaching.
We are seeking to appoint a Associate or Professor of Finance who
- Has a strong record of outstanding and high impact publications in top tier finance journals with an expectation to continue such publications
- Has an outstanding record of teaching
- Can develop strong links with industry
- Demonstrates strong motivational and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, effectively working with the wider community
The University of New South Wales is located close to both Sydney's Central Business District and some of the world's most striking beaches, attractions, weather, and views. The School of Banking and Finance is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (equivalent to tenure track Assistant Professor) in Finance within the Australian School of Business. Banking and Finance is a major school within the Australian School of Business. It has distinguished Honors, Masters, and PhD programs in finance, Australia's highest ranking MBA program, and attracts some of the best students in Australia and abroad. It is highly ranked in both research and teaching. The University of New South Wales is located close to both Sydney's Central Business District and some of the world's most striking beaches, attractions, weather, and views.
The successful applicant is expected to teach both undergraduate and/or postgraduate classes in corporate finance and/or asset pricing. We seek applicants with PhD degrees or who are expected to complete their degree requirements in the next academic year. The primary selection criteria are expected or demonstrated excellence in publishing in top finance journals and fostering a creative learning environment for students. An attractive salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant. Although the initial contract is for a fixed term, however a successful applicant may be considered for a continuing (i.e., "tenured") appointment based on outstanding performance during the period. Associate Lecturer

Salary Level A: A$54K - A$73K paid pro rata (plus 17% employer superannuation plus leave loading).
The School of Banking and Finance is seeking to appoint two fixed-term fractional (50%) Associate Lecturer positions commencing 2010 within the Australian School of Business. The positions are for well-qualified individuals eligible to be enrolled in a PhD in Banking and Finance at UNSW or currently enrolled and studying in the PhD program in the School of Banking and Finance at UNSW. Banking and Finance is a major school within the Australian School of Business. It has distinguished Honors, Masters, and PhD programs in finance, Australia's highest ranking MBA program, and attracts some of the best students in Australia and abroad. It is highly ranked in both research and teaching.
The successful applicant is expected to be able to teach, hold tutorials and provide student consultation; allocate staff and students to tutorials and administer the tutorial program; as well as having an understanding of equity and diversity principles; and have knowledge of OHS responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant OHS training. These are fixed-term fractional (50%) positions initially for two years with the possibility of renewal for a further year.
