Welcome to Professor Neal Stoughton. Professor Alec Cameron, Dean of the Australian School of Business, has announced the appointment of Neal Stoughton to the Macquarie Group Chair in Financial Services.

Visiting Academics
Ron Giammarino
PHN Professor in Corporate Finance, University of British Columbia, Vancouver BC Canada.
Professor Giammarino will spend his sabbatical in residence at UNSW. He will present a seminar as well as a PhD course: Topics in the Theory of Corporate Finance and serve as a FIRN visiting fellow. He is well known for his work on capital structure and real options.
Sudipto Dasgupta
Chair Professor and Director of the Center for Asian Financial Markets, HKUST, Hong Kong.
Professor Dasgupta is well known for his extensive work on industrial organization and implications for financial structure. He will offer a PhD course on corporate financing and investment behavior and will also serve as a FIRN visiting fellow.
Josef Zechner
Professor at Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.
Professor Zechner is one of the founders of the theory of dynamic capital structure. In addition he is well known for his contributions to the understanding of theories of institutional monitoring and corporate governance. He will present a seminar on March 5 in the School of Banking and Finance seminar series.
Australasian Finance and Banking Conference
The School of Banking and Finance at the University of New South Wales recently hosted their annual Finance and Banking Conference. The conference was a huge success,
providing over 250 international academics and industry with the opportunity to meet in Sydney to share their research and interest in finance related fields. If you would like to find out more about last years event, you can here.
A call for papers is now out for the upcoming 22nd Australasian Finance and Banking Conference to be held in Sydney on December 16, 17, and 18, 2009. For details of the current conference, including information about submission and registration, please visit the AFBC website.
