The School of Banking and Finance at the Australian School of Business is pleased to launch the 2009 annual Australasian Finance and Banking Conference and would like to invite all academics and practitioners to participate. The conference is the most prestigious finance conference in the Asia-Pacific region, and brings together the world's foremost leaders of thought from the financial community.

Journals and Prizes for presented papers
- Journal of Banking and Finance
A special issue of the Journal of Banking and Finance on '“Financial
Globalisation, Financial Services and Financial Market
Integration” will include selected papers presented at the
22nd Australasian Finance and Banking Conference.
Authors who are pre-selected will be notified of the
appropriate procedure for inclusion.
- Barclay’s Global Investors Australia Research Award
AUD$10,000 will be awarded for the best paper presented
on Capital Markets/Funds Management/Mutual Funds.
- BankScope Prize
AUD$2,500 will be awarded for the best paper in Banking.
Authors whose institutions subscribe to BankScope data
are eligible.
- SIRCA Research Prize
AUD$2,500 will be awarded for the best paper which has
used SIRCA Data (this includes ASX, SFE, Reuters,
Morningstar and Aspect Financial data). Note: use of
SIRCA data must be acknowledged in the paper.
- Australian Securities Exchange Prize
Awarded for the best paper presented
on derivatives/quantitative finance.
Submissions
The submission deadline is strictly Monday 24 August 2009. Following the link below you may also volunteer as a chairperson.

One submission per person
Only one presentation may be made per person. If you would like to submit more than one paper please ensure that should this paper be accepted by the selection committee for presentation, a co-author is available and willing to present the paper at the conference and, where possible, submit the second paper in that co-authors name.
Discussants
All papers presented at the conference will be discussed. In turn, all authors accepted for presentation must discuss a paper. We thank you in advance for your willingness to share your opinions and expertise, and furnish the growth of your fellow delegate's research. Further information and discussant instructions will be provided at a later date.
Conference Proceedings
Only papers that are accepted and presented at the 22nd AFBC conference may be included in Conference Proceedings.
SSRN produces online post conference proceedings that are sent to all FEN subscribers. If you wish to be included in these proceedings, you must elect to have your paper on public view when submitting.
Independent Conference Proceedings will also be published online, however inclusion is optional.
Authors who wish to have their papers included in this document must specify so during the online paper submission process.
